The Riverwest Artist Association a Not-For-Profit Organization is a diverse collection of individuals who share the common belief that everyone should have the opportunity and support for expressing, experiencing, and sharing their ideas, visions, and talents. We seek to improve the area in which we live by collaborating our strengths, exploring our differences, and challenging ourselves to grow as individuals and as a community, through the arts.
Our goal is to foster reflective, innovative, and proactive art to enrich and stimulate our community.
Riverwest Artist Association originated when a group of artists revived the Riverwest Artists Studios Walking Tour. The original tour was sponsored by the Milwaukee Art Museum and ran biennially from 1979 – 1983. The revived tour (renamed ArtWalk, and now runs the first weekend of every October) organized the art community and gave birth to the RAA.
